A practical solution from CES

The ability to grant free access by switching the entrance door into permanently open mode for defined periods is desirable in many applications. With the new Office function, CES now offers a useful extension of its Omega Active system that responds to this need. Any appropriately authorized locking medium can be used to enable or disable the Office function within its assigned time zone. In this time window, visitors, participants or attendants have free access without having to use a locking medium. Defining these times and using the Office function is very simple and convenient.
The Office software offers value-added beyond the normal locking function. As many as 32 standard transponders per locking device can be set up as Office Transponders to enable the Office function at different days and times. It can be used on all Omega Active devices, i.e. locking cylinders, mechatronic fittings and wall terminals.
Programming is made via the PC software, the new RF-Stick or a programmer, if available.
A practical example: A sports hall is used by several clubs at various times. The caretaker has an authorized locking medium that works at all times. Each of the trainers has a transponder with Office function and integrated time profile based on the respective training periods. During the period for which he is authorized, the trainer can use the transponder to enable the Office function. The locking device will be coupled permanently so that the training participants can enter without any identification. At the end of his training session, the trainer again holds his transponder in front of the reader, and the device will be uncoupled to lock the door. Should he omit to lock at the end of his training session, the device will be nevertheless be time-controlled to uncouple so as to ensure that the door is properly locked. Also training breaks can be accommodated because the trainer can enable or disable the Office function at any time within the time profile defined for his transponder.
