New OMEGA Mifare and RF fittings
01.08.2011
With the introduction of its new OMEGA Mifare and RF fittings in mid 2011, CEStronics has once again extended its product offering.
IES fittings with Mifare electronics
The OMEGA Mifare range now also comprises Intelligent Electronic Shield (IES) fittings in both narrow or broad versions. For this purpose, the known mechatronic door fitting was equipped with the Mifare electronics module. In terms of radio engineering, the new electronics module has been optimized to allow a virtually real-time communication. The wake-on-radio function of the fittings ensures an immediate response of the devices so that programming and event transmission can be performed without any waiting times.
Also the battery management has been optimized. Two standard AA lithium cells no supply enough power for up to 100,000 operating cycles of the IES.
More transponders for Mifare systems
Moreover, the OMEGA Mifare access control system was extended by important transponder media. In addition to the Mifare Classic medium, Mifare devices can now detect and allow the use of virtually all known transponder media complying with the ISO 14443 standard, independent of the length of the serial number (UID with 4 byte or 7 byte). Examples include DESFire EV1, Mifare Plus or LEGIC Advant. This allows an easy integration into existing Mifare systems at any time.
New RF fitting
In addition to the already known RF cylinder, CEStronics now also offers an RF fitting. Both battery operated locking devices allow wireless control under any conventional access control system and thus replace components such as electric strikes that require a significant wiring effort at the door. Also these new devices benefit from an optimization of the radio engineering so that real-time response is possible. For example, a fingerprint reader can control the CEStronics radio switch (SwitchPoint) which will then immediately enable the RF fitting or the RF cylinder across a distance of up to ten metres.
